We have all become confined to our homes once again with a lot of us only going outside for work, or to do the weekly shop. Just because we have found ourselves spending most of our time indoors, doesn’t mean we can stop maintaining a beauty regime. Our skin, hair, and body need to be well looked after, especially as we are in the winter season.
Winter brings freezing temperatures and a great feeling of exhaustion, and it’s also the season that has a negative impact on our bodies. It causes dry skin, redness, chapped lips, and an overall dull look which leaves a lot of us feeling deflated. Now is the time to put the spring back into our step, and turn ourselves into the goddesses we know we are!
It is hard to feel motivated during winter, let alone another lockdown. At this point in the season, many of us are suffering from post-Christmas blues and may not have the money to splash out on new beauty essentials.
That is why we’re here to help you find the right products for you and your body at a small price. We have conjured up a range of items that will make you feel like a brand new person from your hair down to your feet. Oh, and did we mention that all of these products are under £10!? We couldn’t believe it either…
Rodial
Stem Cell Cleanser Mini, £5
A 2-in-1 cleanser and mask for only a fiver? You better believe it. You can use this product as a gentle exfoliate and makeup remover. This tiny yet terrific pot includes ingredients such as coconut oil, cocoa butter and antioxidants which provide the skin with essential nutrients. The buttery texture makes the skin softer and more hydrated – perfect for those prone to dry or dull skin that needs a gentle uplift. So girls, if you want that glow, give this cleanser a go.
Barry M Cosmetics
All in One Nail Paint, £2.39
Now that we can’t go to our usual nail salon due to lockdown, a lot of us have abandoned our nails. Well, with this all-in-one varnish you can start taking care of your own nails without breaking the bank. If you can’t be bothered to paint your nails, you can use it as a nail hardener which protects, revitalises, and strengthens. But if you do wish to take some time to pamper yourself, you can use it as a base coat and a top coat to give your nails a more “professional look”, and prevent them chipping for days!
Lush
Bubblegum Lip Scrub, £6.50
Winter causes a lot of people to have dry skin and dry hair, but what about our lips? We may normally opt for a lather of vaseline, but this product helps exfoliate and scrub away dead skin whilst bringing moisture back into our smile. The caster sugar and jojoba oil means it is safe for you to lick off the rest of the tasty residue before applying your lippy! You can purchase Lush lip scrubs in various flavours such as mint and honey, but we believe this one smells and tastes the best!
Garnier
Ultimate Blends Hair Food Papaya 3-in-1 Damaged Hair Mask Treatment, £6.99
We absolutely love a multi-use product here! This hair food can be used as a standard conditioner to detangle hair, or as a three minute mask to replenish nourishment. It can be used on all hair types, and if you have damaged hair, this product is best used as a ‘leave in’ treatment. Just apply to wet or dry hair and the Papaya and Alma extracts will hydrate, restore softness and reduce the appearance of split ends.
Oh K!
Beauty Sleep Sheet Mask, £4.00
It’s easy to feel sluggish and tired during the winter months, especially during lockdown – but this Beauty Sleep Sheet Mask ensures you look after skin and get some sleep at the same time. It is made up of lavender and chamomile which soothes the skin along with Hyaluronic Acid to give moisture, leaving you looking refreshed and healthy. Apply this on your face for 10-20 mins and let yourself be immersed in serenity while the mask does its job. Once removed, massage the residue into the skin then drift off into dreamland…
Frank Body
Cacao Body Scrub, £7.95
Here’s one for the chocolate and coffee lovers! Made up from all natural ingredients, the Cacao Body Scrub creates a gorgeous aroma while treating dry, dull skin. The coffee grinds are used as an exfoliate and the chocolate is full of antioxidants which give the skin a wonderful glow; the added almond oils further replenish moisture whilst tackling scars and marks. When using this scrub, focus on dry areas, cellulite and stretch marks to see its full effect.
