We often see articles that promote best-smelling bath bombs and bubbles, which is great for when we want to relax and pamper ourselves, but what if we don’t have the time for a bath? Or what if some of us don’t actually own a bath?

Well, for those who don’t, opting for a luxurious shower is the next best thing. However, amongst the myriad of bath and shower products, it can be hard to find what’s right for you and your skin; and most people may choose to buy cheaper items without realising that it may not be suitable for their skin type.

Invest in your skin.  If your skin is a touch on the dry side, for example, don’t just grab the nearest shower gel because it’s reduced to 99p (we’ve all done it), instead treat your skin with the respect that it deserves, read the ingredient small print and invest in a decent shower product that is infused with those moisturising factors your skin is craving.

And can we all agree that women have at least three different types of showers? The “quick body wash”, the “hair and body shower” and the proper “exfoliate, shave, hair mask and maybe a singalong” type of shower.  Well the following recommendations are absolutely for the latter!

We’ve handpicked the best shower products for all skin types – gentle body cleansers that will nourish your skin making it look, feel and smell amazing.  From affordable body washes to luxurious oils on the more expensive side, these are the highly rated and much sought-after items we’ve tried, tested and 100% approve of!

soap

Dove
Beauty Cream Bar
, £0.50

At only 50p a bar, this cheap and cheerful creamy soap is very popular due to its value for money and the way it leaves skin feeling smooth and silky. As well as cleansing your skin, it also acts as a moisturiser as the product is made up of ¼ moisturising cream – perfect for those who are prone to dry skin. Plus, this long-lasting soap can be used all over the body and the face.

skincare

Lush
Twilight Shower Jelly
, £5.50

Fun to use and great to look at, this shimmering pot of jelly can be broken into little chunks or used whole to lather the entire body. Its Lavender and Tonka scent will linger on your body for hours whilst softening your skin. Best used during an evening shower as it is made to be “sleep-inducing” and will leave you feeling calm long after you shower.

skincare

Lush
Rose Jam Shower Gel
, £7.00

Featured on the Lush website’s bestsellers page, the rose jam shower gel is renowned for its sweet scent made up of rose, lemon and Argan oil. Many reviewers have described it as smelling similar to Turkish delight – we’re sold!  A little goes a long way with this bottle as you only need a small squeeze, enough to leave your skin feeling refreshed and smooth. This can be used during your morning shower to get you ready for the day, or during your evening shower when you are ready to unwind.

skincare

The Body Shop
Tea Tree Skin Clearing Body Wash
, £7.50

Highly rated based on its performance, quality and value; this purifying body wash is soap-free and designed to be used every day. Those with blemish prone skin may find it harder to find suitable products that target such areas, but this is the body wash that will help banish pesky spots due to the tea tree oil content which is naturally purifying, promoting clearer looking skin while leaving you smelling fresh and feeling great.

skincare

Rituals
Playable Foam
, £7.90

Who says showers have to be boring? Rituals playable foam is the perfect way to add some excitement to your routine. Simply spray some foam onto your hand and mould it into the shape you desire. skincare

L’Occitane
Almond Shower Oil, £19.50

Shower oils are now becoming a wonderful alternative to shower gels as they do not strip the skin of its natural oils. They also replenish moisture, leaving skin super soft – the added almond oil in L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil releases a fabulous scent that lingers around the bathroom. This shower oil is kind to all types of skin, even those prone to oily skin as it rinses without leaving a greasy residue. It’s also economical due to it being long-lasting and you can buy refills. It’s a big thumbs up from us!

, £41

More on the pricey side, Dior’s JOY Foaming Shower Gel is absolutely worth the spend. Perfect to buy for someone as a gift or to treat yourself like the true fancy lady you are; the rich mousse captures the essence of a luxurious shower experience by creating a silky smooth feeling that stays on the skin for a long time.
